Frequently Asked Questions
are your quotes really free?
Yes. We do not charge for quotes and site inspections. Our quotes carry zero obligation and expire 30 days after issue date. We do not charge a callout free for our quotes.
do you install cameras?
Unfortunately no. ElecFence has no experience with cameras and will therefore not attempt their installation.
Why do energisers fail?
Lightning strikes overload the energiser causing it to fail.
Surges in AC power supply are also a factor. Their expected lifetime is approximately 8 years if not exposed to power surges or lightning strikes.
Why is my engeriser in an alarm state?
There could be a short or a break in one or more of the fence lines. The cables suppling current to the fence could also be damaged. In some cases the energiser itself is faulty.
do you adhere to SANS specifications?
Yes, for your peace of mind all our electric fencing installations are SANS compliant. This means adhering to maximum voltages and joules that your electric lines are legally allowed to carry. In addition, we also advise you on the required warning signage that is to be displayed.
what type of brackets do you use for residential fencing
ElecFence uses only square tube brackets. Flat bar brackets are easily bent out of position, compromising your safety. We, therefore, do not make use of flat bar brackets and do not recommend them.
